Tri-County Cruisers to present 9th Annual Scholarship Award

Several years ago, the club saw the need to close the gap between the old-time car buffs and the upcoming generation of auto enthusiasts. Being a Wayne-based club, it was decided that we would offer scholarship money to a deserving high school student in the Wayne Automotive Program, who is going on to pursue a secondary education for a career in the automotive field. Students in the program can apply for the scholarship that is awarded based on the students future education plans, automotive experience, grades, extracurricular activities and community involvement.

The Wayne Automotive Program from both Wayne Valley and Wayne Hills high schools runs an annual car show to showcase the program’s accomplishments for the year. The event includes hundreds of vehicles as well as automotive related displays and demonstrations.

Although this year’s scholarship presentation had to be canceled due to the health pandemic, we are proud to announce that this year’s scholarship recipients are Skylar Mawson and Joseph Steinhilber. Skylar is a Wayne Hills senior who will be attending UTI and Brookdale Community College. Joe is a Wayne Valley senior who will also be attending UTI. Congratulations to them both!

It is our hope to publicly recognize their achievement at a Tri-County Cruiser event later this season once we can resume our regular activities.
